Fourth of July Events

Dear North Landing Neighborhood,

It's that time of year when we would've been due to have our infamous July 4th celebratory bash (on July 1st), complete with Children's and Pets Parade, Bring a Dish to Pass luncheon.

But fear not.... there is still hope that we can still celebrate a wonderful day... we just need your help to make that happen.

We want to have the Children's and Pets Parade at 10:00 am and the "Bring a Dish to Share" luncheon from 2:00-4:00 pm.

And to top all that off, our board has made arrangements to have a live band, Blind Fate, performing from 4:00-8:00 pm

This will all take place on Saturday, July 1st - there is no rain date for these events.

These events take time & organization though, so we will need volunteers to step up & help.

Please consider helping by contacting either:

Mary Heubel, heubelm@bellsouth.net  |  (770) 354-1882

or Terri Huerta raymandterri@att.net  I (951)892-5808

to sign up for organizing the parade or luncheon or any other activity (you feel so inclined to organize).

Dam Update!

In case you missed the last Homeowners Association meeting, here is the latest happenings on the dam and lake:

Because of the weather and equipment and other projects, they are running about a month behind schedule. The broke through the concrete at the end of the spillway, but there were two layers (so more work than anticipated). The old pipe was filled and is no longer draining, and they will be digging to put in a new pipe soon. Dry soil is needed in the lake bed to build the new structure with the siphon - once complete the lake level will be about 9 feet (will go over from time to time). We are planning to move a dock to the mound toward the center of the lake, so that once the project is complete it will be farther out from the shore. We would love to make a track around the lake for running, but we would need to raise funds to make something like that happen in the future.

Dam Update!

Hi All,

You have probably noticed the excavator on the old tennis court area.  The pipe for the temporary siphon (to lower the lake) arrived today and is being put in place.  They anticipate the flow to begin by Friday (So psych yourself up to see the lake go down).

Construction equipment and supplies will be brought in from Kemp rd.  so as not to damage our curb along our entrance.  It will probably get messy there so get your expectations in line.

I will update you as their plans unfold.  I have a copy of the stamped plans (big) if anyone would like to look at them.  I hope you are as excited as I am to see something actually happening!

Blessings,

Ed Arnhold

Breakfast With Santa - December 3rd

Dear North Landing Neighbors,

Our amazing Social Committee has invited Santa Claus to join us for their delicious pancake breakfast on Saturday, December 3rd from 9:00-11:00 am.

We're hoping Mrs. Claus will be able to make the trip, however she may need to stay at the North Pole feeding all the elves who are finishing up all the toy making.

Sidebar: There are currently 312 elves working feverishly to complete the many wishes on Santa's "nice" list.

Mrs. Claus  was able to find 3 additional elves for hire (Larry, his brother Darryl and his other brother Darryl), to help with all the back orders.... but I digress.

Anyway, Santa would absolutely love to meet North Landing's littlest ones to hear their special Christmas wishes.

Please think about joining us on for a magical morning.

Hoping to see you there.

Saturday, October 22nd: Craft Fair @ 1pm & Trunk Or Treat @ 5pm

Save the date (10/22/16) for our first annual, Craft Fair. The Craft Fair event will start at 1pm, just before the annual Halloween Trunk or Treat. Trunk or Treat will take place on Saturday, October 22nd @ 5pm. Anyone interested in sporting a table to show off their homemade crafts, candles, baked goods, jams, jellies, sauces, or even "talents for hire" skills, please contact the Craft Fair Coordinator, Jess McHenry, at hurleyjes@gmail.com. A $10 donation to the NLHOA for the table space would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible!
